Overview

Located in the heart of Meadowood Mall Way, Reno, Los Cipotes Salvadorean Food offers an authentic taste of El Salvador in a welcoming setting. This Salvadoran eatery stands out for its dedication to traditional flavors and a menu that features beloved staples like pupusas, panes con pollo, pastelitos, and plátanos fritos.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly the pupusa, a thick handmade corn tortilla filled with a variety of classic Salvadoran ingredients such as frijol, queso, chicharrón, and chorizo. For those unfamiliar with pupusas, Los Cipotes delivers a satisfying bite that captures the essence of Salvadoran street food. Customers praise the pupusas for their freshness and authenticity, with one guest highlighting the loroco pupusa as particularly memorable for its distinct flavor, setting it apart from others in the Reno area.

Beyond pupusas, the Panes Con Pollo—savory Salvadoran chicken sandwiches—alongside the Pastelitos, filled with tender Salvadorian beef, round out the menu with rustic comfort dishes that showcase the variety of this vibrant cuisine. Complimenting these dishes is a selection of traditional beverages such as horchata, tamarindo, and the locally beloved Colachampan, which offer a refreshing balance to the hearty meals.

The dining experience at Los Cipotes is described as homely yet lively, appealing to both Salvadoran natives and newcomers eager for genuine Central American flavors. The atmosphere is casual, making it an ideal spot for families, food enthusiasts, and anyone looking to explore Salvadoran cuisine without frills. While some reviewers note that portion sizes are generous and the flavors rich, a few mention that prices lean on the higher side compared to similar local options. Nevertheless, the quality and authenticity often justify the visit.

Los Cipotes strikes a balance between traditional recipes and fresh ingredients, creating a menu that caters to diverse palates, including vegetarian selections. The location within Meadowood Mall Way provides convenience and accessibility, perfect for those frequenting Reno’s bustling shopping district.

In summary, for an authentic Salvadoran culinary experience in Reno, Los Cipotes Salvadorean Food is a destination worth exploring. Whether you’re stopping by for their renowned pupusas or craving a taste of Salvadoran beverages, the restaurant promises a flavorful journey that respects its roots and satisfies the appetite.

Amazing place to eat with an authentic taste. Had the pleasure of dining in on opening weekend. If you have the chance to try their food you will not be disappointed. Lots of options depending on your taste, also vegetarian selections. Pupusas are some of the best I have tried in the Reno area. Stop by and let your taste buds fly.

The truth is, every time I come to RPM, I pick up the loroco pupusas at this place, and I eat them like a starved man in the desert. Love that I can actually taste the loroco in them, compared to other loroco pupusas I've tried in Reno. I'm not even Salvadorean but these are so home-y.

This food is great and I hate beans but they make great beans. The food is always fresh. But they are really expensive and won't give you anything extra on the side which is annoying when you've spend 20 yo 30 dollars on 2 items but other then that the food is good.
